Abstract designs are often associated with more modern and contemporary homes, and while you can certainly use them in those spaces, you can also use an abstract rug to bridge the gap between different styles. The direction your rug leans will depend on the decor that’s paired with it. For example, an abstract marble rug that features greens and blues could easily fit into a modern nautical space. This is just one simple example that shows the potential of green abstract area rugs.
Since these rugs hold so much possibility, you may be wondering how to find the rug that’s perfect for you. Start by thinking through these key areas.
Position: First, determine your room’s layout and where the rug will be placed within that. Each room is unique, so here are some general guidelines to get you started.
Living Room: To make the biggest statement, center your rug with your main seating area. You can place the rug in front of the furniture, under their front two legs, or further beneath them. Pattern: Green abstract rugs don’t typically have any sort of pattern per se, but they do have designs you should consider. Some designs will feature sharp lines to establish the design while others may use distressed colors or marble effects. Choose a design that isn’t too busy for your space and has similar shapes/lines to your other decor to create a cohesive design.
Color: Choosing a green abstract area rug definitely narrows your search, but you need to decide what shade of green you want to be the main color. Popular choices include emerald green, sage green, forest green, and so on. Aside from that, think about the other colors in the design. Green is often paired with gold, navy, red, pink, or neutral tones. The exact color palette you choose should tie to your decor and furniture and convey your desired tone.
